A reliable SSD is important for just about anyone that works off a laptop. I’ve used a few over the years and the first one I ever got was the affordable Samsung T5 SSD. You can get these or the T7 in a one-terabyte size for only about $80 these days on Amazon too. These tiny SSD drives transfer files up to 10 times faster than external hard drives with read/write speeds of up to 1000 megabytes per second. Although I don’t get close to these speeds on my old T5 here, it’s also shock resistant with drops from six foot. I’ve thrown this one around for years and haven’t had a single issue with it yet. This is a great budget SSD to get started and is fast enough to improve your workflow and get work done that much faster with its fast read and write speeds, particularly if you’re transferring big files or do video editing, for example.
