In solid Maple to replace the darker Walnut shelf I currently have because this new space gets a load of sunlight throughout the day so the interior theme is light mode, off-whites, natural leather, and Maple Woods and a touch of black for contrast so this shelf is the perfect fit and I think Walnut should better suit darker tone setups. This is made of Eastern Hard Rock Maple and cork legs for that beautiful textured finish and then 5052 aluminum shelf all of which are hand finish. The result is an immediately elevated high-end look to the empty space. This thing holds up to 50 pounds but I usually have my monitor mounted above anyway and before I start filling out the Shelf let's move on to the next item but I think it's already looking quite nice. A light version machined from solid natural Cork and it fits perfectly into the desk shelf for quick access to my essentials so let's slot that in right here. In my previous setup, I had the same tray in dark and it helped maximize desk space making things that much easier to tidy. Moving on, the next desk accessory is an absolute must-have for me personally and it's the wool felt desk pad.

This one here is made of three millimeter Merino wool felt and you can feel the quality. I tried all sorts of desk pads but by far I think Grovemade’s felt desk pads are my favorite. They look and feel way more static and premium than leather desk pads. The other practical thing I love about desk pads is that it’s modular so it moves all my peripherals around without changing the OCD placement of my tools. If there’s just one thing I’d get from this list it’d honestly be this simple wool felt desk pad. I think it makes the biggest difference and it accents just about any desktop. My desk now looks quite naked without them so the accessories really are the unsung Heroes of our desk. Now that we've got the essentials set up, let's bring out the keyboard and the mouse.

The keyboard sits well with a walnut wrist rest and this one here is hand sanded and finished with vegetable-based oil and a cork base for grip so it doesn't slip all over the place. Like most Grovemade products, they age pretty well and the wrist rest patinas over time to give it that unique character. Meanwhile, the wood planter adds an all-important touch of greenery to this very light space. I'll just be repotting this little succulent that has previously grown like crazy in its previous Walnut planter into this new Maple planter here. The coaster set is a nice complementary partner to the wall desk pad and keeps my Japanese grounded and an easy reach of a nice sip of my beverage at all times.

I'm going to reorganize this area with a pen cup, wood planter, and felt coasters. The pen cup is a simple organizer where I can throw random items into like pens and scissors without making a mess of the precious desk space.

Iconic headphone stand of course in Maple again off to the side in this feature shelf here. It looks great here as its own statement piece and practically, they keep my Bose headphone padding nice and soft because without the stand they'll likely just be sitting face down somewhere on my desk. Now, an additional bonus item that I want to share with you away from the desk is Grovemade’s amazing wooden catch-all.
